On July 22nd, 2025, the Yellowknife Community Foundation held an award ceremony at Somba K’e Civic Plaza, celebrating the year’s
cohort of scholarship recipients. It was a uniquely Northern sunny evening full of shaken hands, bright smiles, and even teary eyes.

We would like to thank our fund advisors and community partners for personally presenting awards.

  • Amanda Mallon: Bella’s Veterinary Student Award Fund
  • Shawna Lampi-Legaree and Sean Legaree: Ian Legaree Youth Leadership Fund
  • Robert and Anna Tumchewics: John Tumchewics Memorial Fund and Con Employees’ Benevolent Fund
  • Charles Dent: Midnight Sun Aviation Fund
  • Michael Saturnino, Associate Deputy Minister, Housing, Sustainability, and Partnerships: Tom Williams Memorial Scholarships and Alfred Moses Memorial Scholarships

And of course, we extend our congratulations once again to our 2025 student awardees. Click here for a full overview of the recipients.
