The Yellowknife Community Foundation was pleased to have been one of the recipients of the proceeds of the 8th Annual Memorial Hockey Challenge held in Yellowknife on January 25, 2014. The funds will be dedicated to the Randy McBride Hockey Fund Project. The other recipient was ‘Helmets for Hardy’. Check out the January 29th article in the Yellowknifer – “Habs alumni put on a show” (PDF 189 kb) – for more information.

The Yellowknife Community Foundation is a registered charity. It was formed in 1993 to provide residents (and former residents) with a means of supporting projects in our community for the enduring future. The Foundation is not singularly dedicated to any specific area of support. It embodies a simple concept – that people working together can make a difference. Donations are placed in a permanent capital fund. The money, invested over time, will grow and will continue to have an impact long after the original gift is made. Donations to the Foundation are eligible deductions for Income Tax purposes.
