Established in 2015, the purpose of the Timothy Henderson Memorial Fund is to help youth in the Northwest Territories access the arts, and thereby give them a creative outlet to cope, connect, and flourish as human beings.
To that end, grants from this fund will be made to the Northern Arts and Cultural Centre to support arts initiatives, activities, programs, promotion, and outreach to youth in the Northwest Territories.

The Timothy Henderson Memorial Fund was created in 2015, after the heartbreaking loss of Timothy Henderson.
Timothy was born and raised in Yellowknife. He was a talented artist who played many instruments and was deeply involved in the arts. He was known for his creativity, kindness, and the impact he had on those around him.
Living with ADHD and Asperger’s, Timothy faced mental health challenges. Art was his way of coping. Even though he reached out for help more than once, he wasn’t able to get the consistent support he needed. His parents now share his story to push for better mental health services for youth.
The arts help all of us. They inspire creativity, build confidence, and give people of all ages a safe way to express themselves.
