Helmets for Hardy

The Yellowknife Community Foundation is pleased to announce that it is now affiliated with Helmets for Hardy, a non-profit organization to support helmet use for biking, skate boarding and other activities to prevent head injuries.

“Helmets for Hardy was created in July 2012, when Josh Hardy, age 18 lost his life due to a head injury. He was long-boarding without a helmet. We believe that he would still be here today if he had been wearing his helmet. Funds being raised are being used to purchase helmets for children who cannot afford them.”

If you wish to make a donation, and receive a tax receipt, please go to the CanadaHelps.Org website, click on donate now (or monthly) and on the pull down menu select Helmets for Hardy.
