With nearly 50 years of collective experience supporting the people of the North, the Yellowknife Community Foundation (founded in 1993) and the United Way NWT (founded in 2001) are joining forces to raise funds for the immediate requirements of community groups supporting those left vulnerable by the Covid-19 pandemic. The Yellowknife Community Foundation will match every dollar donated to the United Way NWT between now and May 15, 2020, to a maximum of $50,000, to support these groups to deliver their vital programming. Donate today via CanadaHelps.Org to be eligible for matching.

Robin Greig, President of the Yellowknife Community Foundation said “The Yellowknife Community Foundation is pleased to be joining forces with United Way NWT to help address some of the urgent and immediate needs in communities across the Northwest Territories.  In the coming weeks the Foundation will also be considering other measures to support our community in these unprecedented times.”

“United Way NWT is proud to be working with the Yellowknife Community Foundation to help bring additional support to NWT Non-profits across the NWT,” said Tracy St. Denis, Chair, United Way NWT. “This campaign is a great partnership that will provide support to those who are most vulnerable during this Pandemic.” United Way NWT raises money through workplace campaigns and special events, as well as through private donations to help meet the basic needs of our community’s most vulnerable people, giving every NWT resident the opportunity to realize a better future. All funds contributed to United Way NWT stays in the NWT.
