TheYellowknife Community Foundation and the family of the late Lena Gosselin arepleased to announce the creation of the Lena Gosselin Memorial Fund establishedto support those who aspire to further their careers in Northwest Territories communitiesand/or the government sector. Lena’s daughter,Tanya Miniely, said “My mother was both a consummate professional and a warm, kindfriend. This scholarship will support and empower individuals to maximize theirpotential through training in the areas of executive office administration andmanagement. My mother spent many years in administration in the NorthwestTerritories as an Executive Assistant, a co-worker, a mentor, a leader and awilling colleague. She took pride in supporting new administrators in theirjobs and championing their career aspirations while focusing on building strongrelationships. Our family is pleased tohave the opportunity to remember her in this way. This scholarship pays tributeto both aspects of her and we know she would be honoured.” BronwynWatters, President of the Yellowknife Community Foundation said, “We lookforward to working with Lena’s family to support development of the publicsector in this way. Lena was not onlyrespected, but also loved by her colleagues throughout government; her commitmentto leadership development in the Northwest Territories will continue throughthis important new scholarship”.
