The Wally12Million Arts Fund was established in 2014 in memory of David Walter Girrior.Wally12Million was Walter's solo project as a composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist.It is available to stream here: https://soundcloud.com/wally12millionWalter is also fondly remembered as the drummer of the beloved Yellowknife band, Erebus & Terror.

Established in 2008, the purpose of the Walter Gibbins Memorial Fund is to support the maintenance of the Walter Gibbins mineral collection and the display cases used to house the collection. The mineral collection is maintained by the Yellowknife Historical Society and has been displayed in a number of locations in the City of Yellowknife. The collection is now permanently located at the Yellowknife Historical Museum.

In 2013, Rio Tinto Diavik Diamond Mine Inc. established the Community Scholarship Fund to assist individuals pursuing a career in mining or resource development. In 2019, a branch was added for women and gender diverse people in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). In 2025, the Fund was restructured into 4 distinct streams. This stream is the same branch from 2019, now expanded to include the Skilled Trades.
