About the Alice & Randy Daniels Music Fund
Established in 2017, the purpose of the Alice & Randy Daniels Music Fund is to support residents of the Northwest Territories who are pursuing postsecondary studies in a music program and developing their skills in music as performers, song writers or producers.
Application process
Individuals interested in applying must create a profile on our scholarship application portal. Once your profile is created, you will need to complete our eligibility quiz and then submit a scholarship application to the Alice & Randy Daniels Music Fund.

Scholarship application portal closes. Late applications not accepted.
Mid- to late July
Funding distributed to scholarship recipients.

The Alice & Randy Daniels Music Fund was established in 2017 by the Daniels family in honour of their mother Alice Daniels of Fort Smith and their brother Randy Daniels also of Fort Smith.
In order to be eligible to apply for the Alice & Randy Daniels Music Fund, you must be:
- A resident of the Northwest Territories for at least the last 5 consecutive years
- Pursuing post-secondary studies in music
Applicants are eligible to re-apply for grants in successive years; however previous receipt does not guarantee future awards and recipients shall not receive the award more than two times.
All of our scholarship application forms and additional materials need to be submitted on our scholarship application portal.
For students that are applying to the Alice and Randy Daniels Music Fund, here are some things that you will be including in your application:
- A personal essay describing why you are applying for the scholarship, how the scholarship will enable you to develop your music skills, your community involvement and contribution in music activities/events
- Two letters of reference attesting to your involvement in supporting music activities/events in your community
Please keep in mind that all applications to YKCF scholarships require the applicant to submit a proof of residency affidavit (which you will be able to find when you create an account on our application portal), and a confirmation of acceptance (or a letter of admission) to a post-secondary institution.
